Blogging has exploded on the internet in the recent years. everyone has their own reason to blog, some do it for fun, some want to have their repository of information on the internet, some do it to get their opinion and point of view across to the audience, while some, a very few do it to make money.

Most people are skeptics about this topic and do not think that money can be made just by writing about a few things on the internet. But truth of the matter is that many people have found multiple ways to make money doing freelance writing.

The simplest, most in - control and liberating way to make money writing on the net is, having a blog of your own and writing about a certain topic and about the things you really like and know about.

The days when you have the writer's block coming up with topics that you want to write about, you should consider writing for major blogs as guest writers and get paid for it. That way, you'll get good suggestions about what to write or even better, have a list of topics to pick from to write about.

These are not the only ways to monetize your scribblings on the net, but just the start. Some of the lesser known and lesser paid ways are,

  1. Writing for article directories and get paid for it.
  2. Writing as ghost writers for others to use your material as thier own copyright (like working for a Publishing company) and get paid for it.
  3. Writing custom content on the web for websites.
